Who we are
Build Roam Tell is a project based in France. We make custom mountaineering backpacks. This policy explains how we handle your personal data when you give us your email address.
You can contact us at any time at [email protected].
What we collect
When you request a file (for example, the GPX track of the Tour du Mont Blanc), we collect:
- Your email address
- Your consent (that you agreed to receive the file and to be added to our newsletter)
We do not collect your name, address, or any other personal data on this form.
Why we collect it
We use your email address for two purposes:
- To send you the file you requested (transactional email with the attachment).
- To send you our newsletter, if you consented to it: occasional updates about Build Roam Tell.
Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You give this consent by ticking the box on the form before submitting. You can withdraw it at any time.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to operate this site:
- Resend: delivers our emails. Resend is based in the United States and processes data under appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses).
- Cloudflare: hosts the website, stores submissions and the file in its infrastructure (Pages, KV, R2). Cloudflare is also based in the United States and processes data under appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses).
We never sell or rent your personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed to our newsletter. If you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent, we delete your data within 30 days.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted transmission (TLS) and access limited to the service providers listed above.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, or to unsubscribe, simply reply to any of our emails or write to [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
Cookies and tracking
This form does not place any cookies or tracking on your device. Analytics on the site are cookie-less and do not require consent.
Complaints
If you believe your data is not handled correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).
